All lubes are the same.

REALITY:
Not all lubes are created equal. A large proportion contain glycerin, parabens, or harsh chemicals that can disrupt pH balance and cause irritation. Silicone-based lubes (like Opal) last longer and do not absorb into your body, while water-based lubes do, along with any chemicals they contain.

If you need lube, something is wrong with you.

REALITY:
Lubricant enhances pleasure for everyone-regardless of age, gender, or health status. It can make intimacy feel even more pleasurable. Furthermore, natural lubrication fluctuates due to stress, hormones, medications (like birth control), hydration levels, and menstrual cycles-and that’s completely normal. Lube isn’t a “fix”; it’s an enhancement.

Saliva is a good alternative to lube.

Saliva dries out quickly leading to increased friction. Saliva also contains enzymes and bacteria that can cause irritation or infections. Silicone or water-based lubes are safer, longer-lasting, and specifically designed for intimacy.

Coconut oil and other household items work just as well as lube.

REALITY:
Coconut Oil is alkaline and antibacterial, and therefore increases the risk of infections (especially in people prone to yeast infections). Plus, oils can degrade latex condoms, making them less effective. If you are using condoms, stick to water or silicone-based lubricant.

Lube is only for vaginal sex.

REALITY:
Lube enhances every type of intimacy-including oral, anal, foreplay, and toy play. It reduces friction and makes every touch feel smoother and more pleasurable. Work smarter, not harder.

More lube = better.
